This policy explains what information Rebar Games collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. This site exists to share news about TECTŌN and to let you ask to be told when the game launches. That is the whole purpose, and the information we handle reflects that.
Only what you type into the launch notification form:
We do not ask for a postal address, a phone number, a date of birth, or payment details anywhere on this site. There is no account to create and no password to store.
We use your email address to tell you when TECTŌN is released, and to share occasional news directly related to the game, such as a demo or a release date. That is all.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade, or share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use it to build an advertising profile of you.
This website is hosted by Netlify, and form submissions are stored in the Netlify account belonging to Rebar Games. Netlify processes this data on our behalf as our hosting provider. Their own privacy terms are published at netlify.com/privacy.
If you agree to analytics, Google also receives information about your visit. That is described under Cookies and analytics below. It is separate from the signup form: your email address is never sent to Google.
If we later move the mailing list to an email service in order to send the launch notice, that provider will process your address for the same single purpose, under the same rules described here.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, which we do not expect to happen for a mailing list of this kind.
This site links out to Steam, Discord, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, and X. Once you follow one of those links you are on their service, under their privacy terms, not ours. We have no control over what they collect.
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find this page and which parts of it they read. It tells us things like how many people visited, which site or search sent them, and which sections they scrolled to. It also records when someone clicks through to Steam, plays the trailer, or downloads the press kit.
It only runs if you agree. The first time you visit, we ask. If you decline, no Google code loads at all on your visit, and we remember that choice so we do not ask again. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies on your device. Your IP address is anonymised before it reaches Google.
Google processes this data on our behalf, and it may be handled on servers outside your country. Google's own terms are published at policies.google.com/privacy. We use it only to understand traffic to this page. We do not use it to advertise to you, and we have not connected it to any advertising product.
To change your mind after choosing, clear this site's data in your browser settings and we will ask again on your next visit.
Nothing else on this page tracks you. Fonts, images, and video are all served from this site rather than from an outside provider, so if you decline analytics, reading this page hands your visit to nobody.
We keep your address until the launch notice has gone out and you no longer want to hear from us, or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first. If the game is cancelled or the list is retired, we delete it.
You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely. You can unsubscribe from any message we send. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR in the UK and Europe or the CCPA in California, and we will honour those requests regardless of where you are.
To make any of these requests, email hello@rebargames.com.
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us their email address, contact us and we will delete it.
The site is served over HTTPS and submissions are stored in an access-controlled account. No system is perfectly secure, but the amount of information at stake here is deliberately small.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use your email address will be announced in the message we send you.
Questions about this policy, or about anything above, go to hello@rebargames.com.
